We've Been Busy Making CritiqueMyDance Better for You!
The new year brought a fresh wave of improvements to the platform! We've been listening to your feedback and working hard to make your experience smoother and more intuitive. Here's what's new:
Two-Way Messaging Is Here
Coaches can now initiate conversations with students when they receive a critique request. Previously, only students could start conversations, but we heard from coaches who needed to ask clarifying questions or coordinate on submissions. Now when you request a critique, your coach can reach out directly through the Messages page to ensure you get the best possible feedback.
Meet Your Coach Through Video
Coach profiles just got more personal! Coaches can now upload an introductory video alongside their profile photo. Students, you can click play right from a coach's profile image to see and hear them introduce themselves. It's a much better way to get a feel for who you'll be working with than text alone.
Smoother Video Uploads
We've made uploading dance videos more reliable and transparent. When you upload a large or long video file, you'll now see a processing animation that keeps you informed until your video thumbnail appears. We've also streamlined the process so students upload one video at a time, reducing confusion and technical hiccups.
Built-In Image Editing
No more jumping to another app to adjust your profile photo! You can now crop, rotate, zoom, and move your image right within the platform before saving. It's faster, easier, and makes for a better user experience.
Help When You Need It
Getting support is now just a click away. Look for the ? icon in the top navigation bar to access our Help Guide or email support directly from your email client—no need to navigate away from what you're doing.
