Why was this created?

Often times student dancers are left without feedback from competitions or practices where it counts the most, in front of a coaches' eye. This platform was created to fill that gap and provide dancers with the professional help they need to improve when they're actually performing in public. Also traveling is expensive. This provide students access to coaches where traveling is not an option.

What's the difference between a critique and a lesson?

Critique is a written or verbal evaluation of a dance performance, analysing is various elemnts and offering an informed opinion on its uscceess and artisiac merit. It's a form of analysis that bridges the gap between the performance and the audience, providing insights into the choreography, technique, expression, and overall impact. A lesson focuses on teaching and guiding the learning learning process throughout a dancer's journey. A critique is not to replace lessons but to compliment along side with lessons. It's the perfect combination to reach peak levels of performance.

I registered. Now what?

Once you have registered, all you need to do is choose your coach, purchase a critique session and submit you video. That's it! Your coach will critique your dance with feedback to help level up your dance skills.

How does pricing work?

The cost varies with each coach as each coach sets their own fee along with an applicaiton fee that's already included in the price. You can either purchase a single critique session or some coaches may also offer discounted packages. See their profile for details after you register.

How long does it take to get a critique?

Each coach sets their expected response time but typically between 1-3 days depening on the number of requests and unless otherwise noted (might be on holiday).

How do I receive my critique from my coach?

You will receive feedback from your coach through critiquemydance web application. Your coach will either provide a written feedback or a video analysis of your dance video as well as any additional videos the coach sees fit for your situation. Once you have reviewed your critique you can request another as well as rate the feedback for your coach to grow as well on the platform. You can review your feedback and track your progress anytime in the web app.

How do I become a coach on critiquemydance?

That's easy. Just simply register on the coaches portal here, set up your monthly subscription, update your profile, and once everything is approved, you're off to the races!
